The cold and cough are mostly common infections occurs most of the time due to mainly the seasonal changes, food habits or travelling.
Our immune system will fight against all common infections on a daily basis. There are few tips to avoid spreading of infections and we can maintain healthy society surrounding you.

Why we get cold and cough?

  1. Seasonal influenza is characterized by a sudden onset of fever, cough , headache, muscle and joint pain. While annoying, coughs that are “productive” get germy mucus out of your lungs when you’re sick. After a cold, though, some “dry” coughs last weeks. That could be because coughing irritates your lungs, which leads to more coughing, which irritates your lungs, and so on.
  2. Allergies and asthma. If you have them, inhaling a trigger like mold can cause your lungs to overreact. They’re trying to cough out what’s bothering them.
  3. Irritants. Even if you’re not allergic, things like cold air, cigarette smoke, or strong perfumes can set off a hacking spell.
  4. Acid reflux. When you have heartburn, stomach acids back up into your throat, especially at night. They can irritate your windpipe, vocal cords, and throat and make you cough.
  5. Other causes. Many other problems — lung inflammation, sleep apnea, and drug side effects — can be triggers. Get coughs that won’t go away checked out to make sure you don’t have a separate problem.

There are some easy and simple homemade beverages made with easy available spices in our Indian kitchen. You can use it in your day to day life or as a alternative option for tea and coffee. these drinks are very effective and gives you immediate relief.

1.GINGER TURMERIC TEA: Ginger, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, black peppercorns, half a tsp of turmeric powder or use fresh turmeric pods. mix all these herbs in a mortar pestle make a rough paste of it. take a 4 cups of water add spice mix , add1tsp of jaggery boil it for 5 minutes.so that all the flavours absorbed. Finally filter it and add a lemon juice .fresh ginger turmeric tea is ready to sip it.

2.GINGER TULSI TEA: In a big saucepan take 4 cups of water, add ginger, few of tulsi leaves ,2 bay leaf, cardamom, cloves and black peppercorns. mix it well and boil it for 5 to 6 minutes so that all the flavours absorbed easily .filter the tea in a cup lastly add either a 1tsp honey or 1tsp jaggery while boiling. ginger tulsi tea is ready to sip it.

3.FRESH MINT TEA: mint, cinnamon, clove, black peppercorns whole, cardamom green .crush it in a mortar pestle and make a rough paste of it. mint spice mix is ready to use .now take a water of 4 cups pour the mint spice mix, mixed well ,add 1 tsp of jaggery and boil it for 5 minutes . so that all the flavours absorbed. Filter it in a cup ,finally add 1 tsp spoon of lemon juice. Fresh mint tea is ready to drink it.
